Raptors receive:
Ty Lawson 1yr/3.5m (3.5) Player Option: No Team Option: Yes Trade Clause: No
Washington's 2nd Round Pick
Wizards receive:
Jonas Valanciunas - 1 Years/3million (3) Player Option - No Team Option - Yes Trade Clause - No
Toronto's 1st Round Pick
Raptors cap before: 71m Raptors cap after: 71.5m
Wizards cap before: 65m Wizards cap after: 64.5m
Reason for trade: The Raptors are looking for a young, versatile point guard that can compliment Dwyane Wade in the backcourt. Knowing that Ty is one of the better players at his position and can only get better, this is a move that will benefit the franchise going forward.

Accepts
Wizards reason: After acquiring jennings from the 76ers, lawson was of no use to this organization and deserves more minutes then what the wizards gave him. Jonas Valanciunas will add some potential to this team and might blossom into a great center with this organization.

Not exactly sure what this trade does for you except gives you a 1st rounder. The fact is you have Nene and Love at the 2 big man positions and J-Val will just end up on the bench. The first rounder does reassure the trade's fairness for both sides.
I have no issues with this deal.

Raptors have 61 total cap for this season, as they 'owe' 8m
Doing this trade, they would be at 71.5m, which equals 10.5m over his current cap. He is only allowed to go 10m over the cap
Have to hear it from Styles, but I don't think this trade can proceed

Last season was irrelevant in regards to cap. This was repeated on multiple occasions. Either way, a player can be conditionally released for this trade to take place. To the rest of you, try following the league stats or the actual sport of basketball to get a better clue about this trade.

I do not have a problem with this trade at all.
Jonas is raptors starting center and is putting up some good numbers, vice versa with Ty.
Problem is, you're gonna be over the cap dan and yeah i understand about the cap rules but the sim doesnt apparently. you're going to be over the threshold of all your cap
